  • Henning Bloech, LEED AP -  Executive Director

    Henning BloechHenning Bloech helped found GEI and was its first employee in 2001. As GEI’s Executive Director, Henning is responsible for the strategy and positioning of GEI and its programs in the global market. Henning is leading the development, promotion and advocacy of GREENGUARD Certification programs and capabilities worldwide. He directs and manages strategy, marketing, communications, relationship outreach and training in support of public affairs and professional efforts for GEI. Additionally, he represents GEI at key strategic events with external stakeholder groups and initiates participation in private and public programs establishing environmental policies, standards and codes.

    Maria Rutland, LEED AP ID +C
    Marketing Manager

    Maria works directly with certified manufacturers of products designed for use in commercial spaces to educate their internal sales forces, communications personnel and any external public relations or advertising agencies they may employ on the importance of indoor air quality and the meaning of GREENGUARD Certification. Maria also aids certified manufacturers with targeted marketing support including, development/review of sustainability messaging for marketing materials discussing GREENGUARD Certification.

    Allison Stone, LEED AP
    Production and Web Designer

    Allison is responsible for maintaining the GREENGUARD Web site as it relates to content and general structure.  Allison also monitors the marketplace for mentions of the GREENGUARD Certification programs thereby helping to drive strategic promotion.

    Paul Bates, LEED AP BD +C 
    Market Outreach Manager

    Paul Bates is the Market Outreach Manager for GEI, responsible for creating and delivering Continuing Education (CE) Programs to various audiences such as Architecture and Design professionals, industry and trade organizations in addition to general audiences.  Paul also works with  participating manufacturers in the GREENGUARD Certification Program conducting sales training sessions and the Train the Trainer Program enabling them to deliver multiple CE programs as part of the Market Outreach Program.

    Josh Jacobs, LEED AP ID +C
    Technical Information & Public Affairs Manager

    Josh Jacobs is the Technical Information Manager for GEI. He is responsible for GEI’s involvement with sustainable building programs, consensus developed standards, codes and standard development. He also works with participating manufacturers on ensuring that they understand where their certified product(s) fit into sustainable building programs around the world.

    Client Relations Manager

    Ranee assists manufacturers with technical questions related to the certification process and is the primary point of contact for client service inquiries. Please contact Ranee if you would like to recommend ways the GREENGUARD Certification ProgramSM can better serve you as a participating manufacturer.

    Ethleen Howell
    Operations Manager

    Ethleen leads the GREENGUARD Operations Team, ensuring seamless interaction between GREENGUARD, GREENGUARD’s customers, and GREENGUARD’s scientific partners. She manages all operational aspects of the GREENGUARD Certification Program, including documentation of customer compliance, licensing agreement administration, invoicing, and website functionality

    Vondia Wells
    Technical Operations Specialist

    Vondia is the Technical Operations Specialist at GEI.  She works closely with GEI’s scientific partners and oversees requests for product samples from manufacturers for quarterly and annual emissions testing.  Regular re-testing helps determine whether products are still compliant with GREENGUARD standards and, therefore, whether they can maintain their certification.  Vondia also corresponds with GEI’s third-party reviewers that support the certification program. 

    Phyllis Faulkner
    Operations Coordinator

    Phyllis is the Operations Coordinator for GREENGUARD.  She’s responsible for maintaining the GREENGUARD Product Guide and keeping product listings current.  Phyllis also works with manufacturers regarding registration and web site inquiries.
