The GEI Press Room offers a variety of information on the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute, the GREENGUARD Certification programs and indoor air quality for both media and consumers. Please do not hesitate to contact us with specific media requests.

Products can release thousands of potentially harmful chemicals into the indoor air, posing numerous health risks and contributing to poor indoor air quality. The GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI) is an industry-independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping create healthier indoor environments by reducing chemical exposure and improving indoor air quality.

In keeping with this mission, GEI oversees the third-party GREENGUARD Certification programs. These voluntary programs certify products with low-chemical emissions.  A GREENGUARD Building Construction Certification Program, which provides guidelines for mold and moisture prevention during construction, is also provided by GEI.
